Early on in my time at the University of Kansas, I took part in the Everett Tzedek Social Action Program, sponsored by KU Hillel. We attended weekly lectures throughout the first semester by activists in fields as diverse as nutrition, animal rights, criminal justice and sustainability. We spent the second semester planning and implementing programs based on the content of these lectures.
For our program, I directed and edited this short video about Lawrence residents’ awareness of the sustainability movement. Then we presented the video in Alderson Auditorium, followed by a lecture by Simran Sethi, a prominent environmental journalist, who is featured in the video.
